5 ways to get rid of spots and pimples

These are some simple home remedies for getting rid of pimples.

1: Dab a bit of lemon juice onto the spots/pimples and leave overnight. Caution! Don’t use during the day.

2: Freeze strong green tea bags into ice cube and rub all over your face.

3: Dab your face with fresh tomato juice.

4: Use egg (white) as face mask, wash off after 20 minutes.

5: Crush some garlic and rub the garlic juice on your face. Leave it on as long as you desire

Bonus tip: Always drink water, I cant stress enough how important it is to drink water and the various benefits that comes with it.

True Happiness

Hello Everyone,

Yh, i know its been a very long while since i have been here. Life has had me up & about since the beginning of this year but God has been super faithful and his grace has been more than sufficient. With that been said, i am back to regularly blogging...

I am extremely grateful to God for his kindness and mercies because I am in a state of true happiness. Like they said happiness is only true when shared. I have to thank God also for the wonderful people he has put in my life to be part of the phase of my life; I pray that true happiness will never seize in everyone's life. I have noticed that when I am truly happy, it reflects in the way I go about things and the way I respond to the people around me. When I am happy, I am always excited to make everyone really happy which makes me happier.

At this point in my life, I have come to realize the validity of the quote that says life is not about the number of breaths you take but the moments that take your breath away. I am really glad that I have come to the point in life where I try to make every moment memorable and worth living. Hopefully at the end of the day, I can look back and smile knowing my day was great while it lasted.

I must point out that being happy doesn’t indicate that everything in life is perfect though. Sometimes, true happiness just signifies an individual’s ability to see past their challenges; continually be hopeful; relish in the excitement of what is going great in their life; and appreciate everything beautiful in or around their life.

Regardless though, it is very important to strive for true lasting happiness and be glad to share it with everyone around you.
Y'all have a beautiful weekend n be safe...xoxo!

THE "20MILE RUN"

Groaning and moaning in pain
A stream of pain I felt flowing through my back to my legs
My knee felt a dam of pain
Shoot!!! “Why are you doing this to yourself?”...I asked

But then I remembered why
I remember am doing this for ME, for my FUTURE, and for the people that matter
And that was all the reasons I needed to get me through
My body held on to every breath as if it’s going to be the last
My throat craved for water
I didn’t wear a watch so I would not keep track of how long the pain had lasted
Looking forward to the end
“When am I going to stop?” …I asked myself yet again
I sighed!!!...Muttering “Oh God… This feels terrible”
With every step I took, the harder it got
But every step took me closer to the finish line
I wondered “When am I ever going to get there?”
But I never gave up
I kept taking one step after the other
It took faith, courage, and great endurance to keep moving
Every step cost me great energy from deep within
My body was beginning to tap into my energy reservoir
I knew my energy was running out
Just the same way my body was beginning to give up on me
All I craved for was to stop and quit
But then I knew deep down that wasn’t what I wanted
I needed to finish this for ME, my FUTURE, and the people that matter
So, I reminded myself that every step took me further and closer to the finish line
So, I kept going
So, did the groans and moans of pain kept going
So, did the sweats and the tears flowed
The rhythm of my heart synchronized with the rhythm of the music playing in my ears
I never felt alone because my music kept me company
Every song sank deep within my soul
And I kept moving... Cos I realize that the pain I felt was just a piece of the puzzle …And I kept moving
I opened my eyes, only for me to see …
The Flashing Lights and the Great American Ensign Flying High
A representation of TRUE BRAVERY AND FREEDOM
At that moment it donned on me that I just finished a “20mile run”
A true act of BRAVERY AND COURAGE
The feeling of making it to the finish line was refreshing, liberating, and fulfilling
Yet another piece of puzzle was set in place
But most importantly, for me, it marked yet another milestone written with Sweat and Tears…

Bill Gates speech: 11 rules people did not and will not learn in school

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world doesn't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You most likely will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
Hope u learn one or two things from his speech. Remember, Life is what we make it.
Y'all have a splendid weekend... Much love!

Happy Labor Day!

Hi Everyone,

How are you all doing? For the people in the US, hope y'all are enjoying your Labor day. I am trying to make the best out of this day, relax, and enjoy my day off cos you deserve it if you 've been working all year long. I woke up @ 6am cause my body is already use to waking up that early, enjoyed the feel of water on my skin for quite a while in the shower, had a nice breakfast, am currently at the beachfront enjoying the breeze & soaking in some sun, ...hoping to go back home in the next hour, eat some freshly made fruit salad for lunch, take a short nap, and most likely hit the park later in the evening for a concert ... and that's the plan :)

With me enjoying this beautiful day, it's only fair that i give y'all something to add some spark to your day. As such, i have a beautiful "heart melting" song to share with y'all; Since first listening to it on Saturday, i have been playing it over n over again. Something about this song connects with my heart & brings beautiful thoughts that gladens my soul :) :)

Enjoy!

Bracket ft Tuface - Yori Yori Remix

PS Tuface looks tres sexy with his bald head (& sexy yummy lips.....damn!), he makes the no.2 on my list of men that makes baldness breath-taking; BTW Boris Kodjoe is my no.1

Y'all have a great day and remember to enjoy the little things of life cause they make living worth while...

Love y'all

Secret to Flawless Skin

Hi Everyone,

New Week, Great Energy!

Fall is gradually knocking the door....Best time to start taking care of our skin in preparation for the harsh cold weather coming ahead.

In today’s society, having a beautiful looking skin is of great importance, most especially for ladies. There are so many beauty products in stores with the promise of given everyone a beautiful and flawless skin, but most of us can testify that sometimes, these beauty products don’t work or may make the skin worse that it is. Regardless though, we still have to give credit to the beauty products that actually work… and yes, there are beauty products that do work. These beauty products that work are usually neither cheap nor affordable, at least for most people.

Also, for people like me who do not believe in using make-up to hide flaws and usually rock the natural look; It is very important to make sure my skin is always on point which is not the easiest thing to achieve. There are so many factors that usually affect how our skin looks; Basic factors such as cleanliness/ skin care routine, Beauty products being used, what we eat, stress level, Allergies, etc

With all these being said, it is quite beneficial that we start learning about the affordable little things we can do to improve the health of our skin and get the flawless skin we all desire.

So, what’s the secret to flawless skin? How do some people achieve and maintain a beautiful skin while others struggle with a scaly skin, acne, pimples, blackheads, and dry spots?

For some people, it’s genetic… but then, that is usually not the only reason; besides, the effects of genetics can be minimized. Some believe it because they are not using or haven’t found the right beauty products, creams, or cleansers for their skin... but that’s also usually not true.
Sometimes, all we need to do is go back to the basics of being healthy; you know eating the right things, exercising, getting enough rest, drinking lots of water, etc. Doing these things, most especially eating the right food helps maintain the complex balance of nutrients and hormones that feed the skin.

Here are some foods can that helps achieve the flawless skin everyone desires.

Beta-carotene foods such as carrots, sweet potatoes, red bell peppers, and red grapefruit
Beta-carotene foods contain tiny orange pigments called beta-carotene, and these pigments nestle into the skin, fill in blotches, and give a healthy glow. This can also help prevent premature aging from sun damage.

Monounsaturated-fat foods such as avocado, olive oil, almonds, and peanut butter

Monounsaturated-fat foods reduce the appearance of wrinkles and reduce the damages from exposure to too much sun. They also have the added bonus of vitamin B which helps to keep the skin looking vibrant and smooth.

Omega-3 foods such as salmon, sardines, walnuts, flaxseed

Omega-3 foods are ideal foods for many reasons. Omega-3 fatty acids are the essential fats that concentrate in the walls of the epidermal cells to help lock in moisture into the skin. It also fosters a faster recovery rate from exposure to ultraviolet light which keeps the skin from looking dry and helping it battle the dangers of excessive sunlight.

Isoflavone-rich foods such as beans, tofu, black beans, chickpeas, lentils, soybeans, peanuts

Isoflavone-rich foods contain huge amounts of isoflavones, antioxidants which protect the skin by smoothing out wrinkles.

Polyphone-rich foods such as grapes, grape juice, blueberries

Polyphone-rich foods contain antioxidants called polyphenols improves the skin’s elasticity by strengthening collagen, the primary protein in the skin’s innermost layer which help keep the skin from sagging. polyphenols also provides protection against heart attack and stroke.

And most importantly, We have to stay well Hydrated always… Drink lots of Water and more Water!!!

WATER!!!... And water-rich foods such as watermelon, peaches, celery

Okay, it’s not as fun to drink water as it is ti drink juice, wine, or alcohol but water is the strongest weapon you have against lifeless skin. Water keeps the skin well moisturized which is very essential to having a flawless skin. Water is vital to the entire body as all the body’s processes rely on hydration in some way, As such, you definitely should be sipping or better still drinking water throughout the day; else, you’re likely to have dry skin, slower metabolism, or indigestion in some situations.
According to studies, it takes half-liter (just a little over 18 ounce) of water to create a measurable increase in the capillary blood flow. Increasing the blood flow will definitely increase the rate at which all the blood-carried essential gets to the skin and to the rest of the body.

Take my word for it… Try drinking half-liter of water a few times a day and you’ll have a skin as healthy and flawless as that of a newborn in no time…lol!

Have a wonderful Day and Enjoy the rest of your week!

xoxo

Hairdventure .....(Hair Adventure)!!!

Hey Guys,

How's y'allz day going? Mine is going great; Had a quite interesting conversation with an old friend today.....Mehn! it feels extra good catching up with old friends.

Am sure most people are quite aware of the tug of war going on about good hair and bad hair. To me, any hair that is healthy is good.....and that is all that matters to me. But then, i feel like most people ain't comfortable in there own skin, neither do they believe in there own sense of style (just my own opinion tho).

I ain't scared to express myself any way i deem fit and neither am I scared to rock my own unique style regardless of how different it is. For most of my life i have always rocked a low cut but then i didn't really had a choice cos my parent n school decided so...lol! Coming out of high school, i was so excited about finally being able to grow and get my hair done that i screwed my hair up so bad. Instead of waiting for my hair to grow naturally, i decided to skip steps and just perm it. My hope was that perm will make it grow longer faster but damn, i was dead wrong.

So, after a while tryna get my hair back to what it should be, I got fed up and decided it was time to go back Natural. After telling a couple of my friends about my decision to go natural(which most of them didn't support), I finally got my BIG CHOP in December of '09.

I have to be honest, it felt really different after a couple of yrs of having long hair; It was really easy to maintain and it grew fast too(at least much more than i expected)...I was able to wash it every morning and i totally loved it.

After a couple of months of rocking my low cut, my hair had grow enough for me to maneuver into different styles~ two strand twist(my fave), three strand twist, front cornrow w/ twist in the back, and Afro. I also have to acknowledge that i kinda cheated a lil bit tho, I got full weave, good old braids, and even strengthened my hair out a couple of times in between; usually when i didn't have that much time to dedicate to getting my hair taken care of daily.
(Three strand twist .....done by a friend of mine.....Don't really know how to do three strand....usually end up tangling my hair up whenever i try)
(Me rocking front cornrow with twist out at the back)

(Yet another front cornrow..... but with two strand twist at the back)
(Two strand Twist ....... which i usually convert to twist out after a couple of days)
(This is the pic i took for Black History Month in February of '09, rocking my Afro.....Am Black and Am Proud....lol!)
(My hair fully straightened out....usually avoid doing this cos of the heat use)

Natural hair is very beautiful (at least to those that appreciate it) but it has to go through quite a lot of different routines to keep it well maintained. Natural hair is actually the most driest hair out of all hair types and don't be fooled by its amazing thickness, Natural hair follicles are also the thinnest. As such, I will say it requires quite a lot of effort and dedication.

Few tips for taking care of Natural Hair:
1. Drink lots and lots of water
2. Moisturize hair Daily to prevent drying out
3. Wash weekly with natural product shampoo
4. Deep Condition every 2-3 weeks depending on how dry the hair is
5. Avoid apply heat as much as possible especially through use of Flat Irons and Curling Irons
6. Use Natural Oils or Natural materials based product; Totally avoid using mineral oil or petroleum oil based products
7. Comb and Brush Hair when wet or really moist
8.Protect hair with silk or satin cap while sleeping
9. Eat Healthy, a lot of vegetables and fruits
10. Carefully detangle hair regularly/ after washing to avoid serious breakage

Those are the few i can remember right now but do feel free Feel free to add more tips in
Overall, Am totally loving How healthy it is and guess what?~ I am proud to call myself nappy cos I am Happily Nappy...lol!

Enjoy the rest of the week y'all.....Hugs & Kisses!

Opposite Sex Besties......Possible????

Hope you guys are having a great week so far? A lot is going on around me, spring break was fun, was a lil busy ....hmmn! doing nothing really......wake up, freshen up, eat, browse the net, read, eat, catch up wiv friends, watch a movie, sleep, & probably get a lil work done somewhere in between..... that's exactly aw my spring break went...... fun right?.....lol!

So, there is something i would love to get blogsville opinion on..... Am of the school that it is possible for ladies and guys to be bestfriends based on mutual grounds without underlying feelings or attraction. When i say bestfriends, i mean friends who discuss everything to nothing, share alot of things, cry together, laugh together, and truly have each other backs. But then there are a couple of people who seem to believe it is not possible and realistic for a lady and a guy to be best friends without one or both having feeling for each other......

Some people seem to argue the fact that even if a lady and a guy manage to keep a close friendship for a period of time, things will eventually become chaotic when one of them gets into a relationship wiv someone else

.... i beg to differ though, i totally believe it is possible for opposite sexes to be bestfriends without developing any feelings or attraction for each other...cos i have a lot of close guy friends and i have no ounce of attraction or feelings for them.....or maybe i am the weird one who doesn't realize if i have feelings for them or not (which i doubt)......

but then, i have to acknowledge that i have lost a lot of really close guy friends with whom i had great friendship as a result of this though. Situations where I have been close friends with a guy and then, he came up with the idea of taking it to the next level (relationship)....But i didn't see the possibility of the realtionship working out probably cos I am not attracted to the person or cos our personality won't make a beautiful couple adventure (atleast, so i thought) or cos of other reasons; and then, suggested we keep things on the "bestfriends" level..... a couple of guys have gradually drifted away while a couple of guys bluntly made it clear that they just can't be friends if we ain't dating.

So, my question is ....Is it possible to be bestfriend with an opposite sex without developing feelings or attractions OR not.....what are your thoughts blogsville?

Spring Time and Everything beautiful.....

Hi Y'all,

It's a beautiful day outside, sun shinning bright, cool wind blowing, and the best part of it all is that it feels so liberating. Spring Break is finally here......woop! woop!! spring break starts tomorrow.....finally getting some time out from school at least for a week.
In my opinion, everything about spring time is usually very beautiful except for the flaring up allergies. The beautiful weather most especially is just way too priceless, after experiencing winter and it's drama of wearing layers of clothes & heavy jackets; it feels so good shedding those extra weight of clothes, soaking in some light sun, gazing at the new beautiful flowers blooming, and enjoying the light breeze.

For me, spring time is the most appropriate time for outdoors activities ~ jogging, long walks around the neighbourhood, picnics at the park, bike riding, camping, fishing, catching up with friends over a cup of tea at the cafe, natural tanning, patronizing neighbourhood open markets, and sorts. Being a person that enjoys solo outdoor events, believe me, i take full advantage of every spring and in the best way make it memorable. Usually, i get to do more outdoor exercise, daily evening walks which is always very inspirational to me, get to write more poetry n stuffs, catch up on my reading habit, and basically just get to enjoy & cherish the little things of life.

So guess what???..... As expected, i have got my reading and writing groove back. I am more frequent at the public library of late and seriously catching up on them books. I just finished reading "Before You Do" by T.D. Jakes yesterday night.

It's a very inspirational and realistic book, It's was up to my expectation. Anyone familiar with T. D. Jakes works can testify that he's a great writer, speaker and his works are usually of excellent quality. Basically, the book gives a detailed guidance to making the right choices in life and avoiding later regrets in life.....It surely makes a good read for anyone interested.

Here is a list of fun things you could do during spring time.....Hope you will find some you can enjoy alone or with close family members or friends:

1. Watch and enjoy the beauty of sunrise or sunset.
2. Learn how to make a spring family recipe favorite.
3. Plant a vegetable garden if you have the landed space
4. Attend a local elementary school, high school or college sport events ~baseball games, softball games, or soccer games.
5. Get a new makeover or hairdo or learn a new make-up trick.
6. Self-done manicure & pedicure session ~Paint your nails in spring colors .
7. Make a CD of your favorite inspirational, get-up and go songs.
8. Oeganize a picnic at a local park alone or with families or with few close friends.
9. Spring cleaning ~ cleaning out your closet and re-decorating your living space.
10. Attending spring community events.
11. Start a new healthy habit and workout plan.
12. Bike rides with friends or neighbors.
13. Swap favorite books with friends and read them.
14. Writing poetry or songs.
15. Volunteering at various local community projects.
16. Check out camping opportunities.
17. Visit a local historical site.
18. Have a spring color scavenger hunt with families and friends.
19. Join a book club or start a new novel.
20. Create a new photo album or scrapbook.

Anyways, It's time to pick up new fun hobbies, enjoy the simple things of life, and breathe the deep breath of spring...

Y'all have a wonderful day and a splendid weekend!!!

Dami

Yay ~~~ Time to have Fun!!!

'Sup peeps,

How is everyone doing??? and how is y'allz weekend going???....Mine has been quite dry n blah~ ish but then i had a quality reflection time; more than enough time to think things through, clear my mind/head, and communicate with my creator......and the continuous rain & extra cold weather totally put me in an indoor mood.

So, i have had this blog for a very long time but wasn't quite sure if i wanted to have a public blog with my true identity, and also tryna decide specifically what i will be blogging about kinda kept me back & forth with it..... tryna decide if i wanna write about personal stuffs or just publish my literary works or about my entrepreneurship pursuit or inspirational messages or fashion, music & cool stuffs or just random stuffs...... but then i thought and decided it would be a lot of fun to have a bit of it all & just go with the flow. Not to worry tho, i promise n hope not to bore you out.

With that being said, would really appreciate your continued audience and contribution .....Y'all stay tuned and let's set the ball rolling...... Y'all have a wonderful week ahead mehn...... Brrrrrrpppp!!!!*****am out!!!!

xoxo,
Dami
